Angola’s Naval Northern Region’s New Commander


A new commander of Naval North Region of the Angolan Navy (MGA), Rear Admiral, Augusto Pedro, was introduced on Monday [June 15] in the municipality of Soyo, northern Zaire province, during a ceremony chaired by the MGA commander, vice Admiral, José Francisco.

The new commander takes over from the Vice Admiral Manuel Ferreira de Jesus, recently appointed as head of Operation Department of MGA.

Addressing the ceremony, the Vice Admiral Francisco José defended the need to strengthen, more and more, the Naval Northern Region with the use of technical and human resources, to meet the new challenges.

The Naval Northern Region comprises the provinces of Zaire, Cabinda, Luanda and Cuanza Norte.
